Carroll struggled for the 1st time this season as they went on the road for their first real road trip to an unfamiliar gym to face and unfamiliar opponent. Carroll and North Polk met for the first time as Raccoon River Conference foes.
It wasn’t a good start for the Tigers as North Polk came out and jumped on the Tigers leading by as many as 7 in the 1st quarter. Carroll battled back and cut it to 14-12 at the end of the 1st quarter and then took their first lead in the 2nd. Carroll used a 25-9 after being behind 12-5 early to lead 30-21 at the half. Kaleb Booth had 14 points and Nick Macke added 9 points in the half.
Carroll has come out of the locker room in the 3rd this season and played well and that trend continued. The Tigers went up by as many 18 in the 50-37 entering the final stanza. North Polk wasn’t going to go away as they opened the 4th with a 12-0 rally and trailed just 50-49 with 3:00 left. The Tigers first 4 points of the 4th quarter all came from the free throw line as they pushed the lead to 54-49 with 2:32 left. The defense made a few plays down the stretch and Carroll was able to improve to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Raccoon River Conference.
Kaleb Booth and Nick Macke each went for 19 points in the win. Tory Feldman added 12 points and a game high 9 rebounds. The Tigers are back in action on Friday as they host Winterset.

Kuemper fell to 1-2 on the season with a road loss on Tuesday. The 2nd quarter was the difference as the Knights hung tough early and trailed by 6 heading into the 2nd frame. Harlan outscored Kuemper 22-10 in the 2nd quarter to open the game up.
The 2nd half went better for Kuemper as they outscored the Cyclones in both the 3rd and 4th quarters. Kuemper shot 37% from the field and hit 4-13 from three point range. Mitchell Badding was 3 of 6 from down town. The Knights turned it over 21 times while collecting 3 steals.
Mitchell Badding led the Knights with 17 points. John Mayhall had 11 points and 4 rebounds. Isaac Evans finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Knights return home on Friday to host Red Oak.

It was a tough night for the Audubon boys after Jackson Deist hit a runner in the lane to them ahead 2-0. They played well the first few minutes on both sides of the floor before Treynor picked up the tempo and knocked down a 3 straight 3’s to go up 11-2. The Wheelers were down by 31 at half and fall to 0-3.
Jackson Deist led the Wheelers with 8 points, Carson Bauer finished with 7 points and Joel Klocke had 6 points. Gavin Smith had a team high 8 rebounds, Carson Bauer and Ethan Klocke each had 6 rebounds.
The Wheelers travel to Underwood on Friday.

Ar-We-Va and West Harrison were tied at 48 with 4:00 left but the Rockets weren’t able to pull out the win as they suffer their 2nd loss of the season and fall to 1-2 overall. The game was tight most of the game with Ar-We-Va down by 6 after the 1st quarter and down 8 at half. The Rockets rallied in the 3rd and pulled within 3 before tying the game midway through the 4th quarter.
Will Ragaller led Ar-We-Va with 23 points. Braeden Kirsch added a solid game with 9 points and 12 rebounds.
The Rockets head to CAM Anita on Friday.

Coon Rapids Bayard suffered their first loss of the season as they game slipped away from them early. The Crusaders started slowly and trailed 14-6 at the end of the 1st quarter and were down 27-14 by half. They came out better in the 3rd quarter and played their best basketball in the 4th but they couldn’t claw their way back into the game. The Crusaders struggled on defense as CAM Anita was able to get in the lane and to the rim. Offensively they made 17 of 42 shots from the field but only 4 of 16 from the free throw line. The Crusaders only had 7 turnovers but only made 1 steal.
Tanner Oswald had a game high 17 points for Coon Rapids Bayard while Gabe Obert finished with 10 points. Josue Ramirez had a team high 6 rebounds.

Glidden Ralston started slowly, falling behind 11-0 to a good Woodbine ball club. The Wildcats didn’t get into a rhythm on offense though Cale Klocke had a nice night shooting the ball. Klocke hit 4 of his 8 shots from the field and was 4 of 7 from three point range. He finished with a team high 12 points. As a team the Wildcats hit on 24% from the field, going 5 of 20 from 2 point range and 6 of 26 from 3 point range.
Cale Klocke led the way with 12 points and 2 steals. Brigham Daniel added 2 steals.
The Wildcats head to Boyer Valley on Friday looking to improve to 2-3 on the season.

The Rockets dropped a tough game on the road on Tuesday after trailing by just 4 points entering the 4th quarter. They were outscored 17-4 in the 4th to fall to 1-2 overall.
The game started pretty well as they hung tough trailing 13-8 after the 1st quarter and 32-25 at half. The Rockets came out and played well out of the locker room to start the 3rd, holding the Spartans to 10 points and cutting the deficit to 4.
Connor Brus led the way with 9 points while Riley Cullum finished with 8 points. Bradyn Smith had a team high 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Joe Carey had 5 steals.
The Rockets return home on Friday to host Coon Rapids Bayard.

Another tough loss for the IKM-Manning boys as they fall to 0-4 on the season. The Wolves led by 5 heading into the 4th quarter but weren’t able to hold on and Riverside used the momentum from the 4th quarter rally to pull out the win.
IKM-Manning trailed by 1 at the end of the 1st quarter and had the game tied at halftime. Kyler Rasmussen, Brody Swearingen and Luke Ramsey paced the offensive attack, helping them take the lead and maintain it in the 3rd.
The Wolves are still searching for consistency on offense scoring just 6 points in the 4th quarter and 7 in the 1st quarter.
Kyler Rasmussen led them with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Brody Swearingen added 9 points and Luke Ramsey finished with 8 points. Cooper Irlmeier added 3 assists.
The Wolves will look to grab their first win at AHSTW on Friday before returning home on Saturday to face Exira-EHK.
