The Friends of Kuemper Ball chair couples gathered Wednesday evening at Santa Maria Winery with staff, administrators and supporters of the Kuemper Catholic School System to announce the theme for their annual fundraising gala. The theme for this year’s event is “A Knight to Unite” and is chaired by Lisa and Nick Bowdish, Gina and Tony Badding, Susie and James Heiliger, and Jon and Michelle Heim, all parishioners at St. John Paul II–Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The Friends of Kuemper Ball will again be held at the school’s fieldhouse on Grant Road and is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, May 1. The 2020 event was moved entirely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, organizers are planning to have guests and supporters in-person this year with mitigation protocols in place. A drive-through meal option may also be an option for individuals who cannot attend for the entire evening. Money raised from the ball is used to support teacher salaries, tuition assistance, capital projects and much more.
