Region XII Council of Governments and Iowa’s Small Business Development Center have announced their small business webinar series that will kick-off in February. The first, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2 hosted by Chatterkick CEO, Beth Trejo, will help business owners learn how to get social media to work for them, earning more money by “saying this, not that.” On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7 a.m., CEO and co-founder of Member Marketplace, Cherie Edilson, will discuss the Shop Iowa platform offered by the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Brought to popularity by the COVID pandemic, Shop Iowa offers small retail businesses the ability to band together and sell online. Lisa Caspere will take to the virtual realm at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 to help businesses understand Iowa sales tax, online sales requirements and local option sales tax requirements. The series will continue into March and April with upcoming webinars on building websites, integrating e-commerce into web platforms, growing a business utilizing Google, identifying your customer base and where they are, maximizing a Facebook business page and tips and tools for how to run a business when we are not operating in a business-as-usual environment.
