St. Anthony Nursing Home Is Deficiency Free In Latest State Inspection

The St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll is excited to report they earned a deficiency-free survey earlier this month. The nursing facility underwent their annual state survey during the week of Feb. 1 through Feb. 9, the first done since April of 2019 because of the COVID-19 outbreak. The state averages in 2019 were six and a half deficiencies per facility. Generally, only five percent of the 340 nursing facilities in Iowa are found to be deficiency free. “This is a great accomplishment and testament to all of the great and hardworking staff that work at St. Anthony Nursing Home,” says Director, Jerry Wordekemper. “Our services meet or exceed rigorous state and federal standards, which is a great comfort to our resident’s families.” The Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, Health Facilities Division, conducts the inspections over several days. The inspection includes observations of care, interviews with residents, family members and employees, record checks for compliance with regulations and confidentiality, cleanliness, residents’ rights and more.
