The Lake View City Council has approved a $13,500 bid from an engineering firm to create an updated map of the community’s storm sewer and tile drainage systems. Administrator, Scott Petersen, says the council reviewed two proposals during their meeting earlier this week and chose DGR Engineering of Sioux City to complete the work. According to Peterson, Lake View currently does not possess a thorough map of these systems and one is long overdue.
Peterson says it will serve as an excellent tool to help city crews pinpoint potential problem areas, assist city officials when planning infrastructure improvements and more once completed.
He adds DGR’s bid came in very close to what they had originally estimated for the project. Fortunately, the mapping process is relatively simple and most residents will hardly notice the work taking place.
Peterson says they are working with the firm to set a date for when they will be in town. City officials will notify residents once they have been scheduled.
