Two men remain in custody at the Audubon County jail after meeting with the magistrate. Fifty-eight-year-old Dennis Leroy Petersen of Atlantic was arrested on charges stemming from a theft in the 400 block of West Washington Street in Exira. These include third-degree burglary, first-degree theft and fifth-degree criminal mischief. Petersen was held on a $15,300 bond for those charges, then on March 25 he was additionally charged with a probation violation and a $2,000 cash only bond was added. Thirty-five-year-old Robert Lee Crawley of Hamlin was arrested on March 26 on an outstanding parole violation warrant. In addition, he was charged with a sex offender registry violation and after a hearing with the magistrate was remanded back into custody with no bond.
