Carroll Man Accused Of Drug Trafficking And Pistol Theft Pleads Not Guilty

A Carroll man charged with drug and weapons violations in Carroll County District Court has been scheduled for trial next month. Court records show 28-year-old Dustin Duane Hill filed written not guilty pleas Monday to one count of possession of over five grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver with a firearm, a class B felony, and acquisition of a pistol without a permit, an aggravated misdemeanor. The charge stems from an investigation by the Carroll Police Department into an accidental discharge on Dec. 29, 2020 in the 900 block of Woodland Drive. Authorities conducted a search of Hill’s home and located approximately 9.25 grams of methamphetamine, a scale and a firearm that had been reported stolen from a nearby residence. Hill’s trial is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, May 25 with a pretrial conference on May 17. If found guilty of both charges, Hill faces a maximum penalty of up to 27 years in prison.
