The Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation (IALF) will once again be offering professional development workshops across the state this summer for teachers and other educators. These workshops will help teachers apply Iowa Core standards, including social studies and science, in the context of agriculture. They will also use ag to instruct on other core concepts and skills, such as language arts and math. These are hands-on, interactive events with one day site visits and tours and one day of practical classroom applications. These are being planned as in-person sessions, but can be converted to an online format if the need arises to ensure health and safety concerns are met. There are seven workshops planned: with two June 10 and June 11 in Oskaloosa and Northwood; in Ladora on June 16 and June 17; July 14 and July 15 in Independence; July 19 and July 20 in Eldridge; Aug. 2 and Aug. 3 in Ames; and Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 in Woodbine. More information and details on how to register are included below.
