The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach have partnered in a child care provider online training event for the award-winning “Growing Up WILD” activity guide. The training includes learning how to incorporate exciting, hands-on activities and resources for children ages three through seven that will lead them out the door and into an exploration of nature. The virtual program incorporates age-appropriate practices and concepts that help leaders build and nurture a child’s sense of wonder about nature, wildlife and the great outdoors. Early learning activities focus on math, science, language, literacy, healthy living, play and creativity. Participants are required to complete online pre-workshop activities to attend the May 19 training session that will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $45 and includes the “Growing Up WILD” activity guide. Participants will receive four (clock) hours of credit for childcare license renewal approved by the Department of Human Services. Registration and payment must be submitted by May 5 and can be done through the link included below.
