Coon Rapids Bayard at Newell Fonda

The Coon Rapids Bayard Crusaders participated in the 2021 Newell-Fonda Coed Track Meet and ended the day with a handful of top three finishes. The Crusaders finished in sixth place in the team standings with 33 team points. Southeast Valley won the meet with 166 team points.

Omarion Floyd finished in third place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.91. Floyd teamed up with Clark Sievers Lance Clayburg, and Tanner Oswald in the 4X100 relay, finishing in third place with a time of 48.37, and the 4X200 relay, finishing in third place with a time of 1:42.81. Clayburg wrapped up the discus event with a second place finish, throwing 114-00. He also finished in fifth place in the shot put event, throwing a 38-02.00.

South Central Calhoun at Pocahontas Area

The South Central Calhoun Titans finished in fifth place at the 2021 Pokey Relays on Friday. The Titans finished with 78 team points. Bishop Garrigan won the event with 118 total team points. While the competition was tough, South Central Calhoun did wrap up their day with a good amount of top three finishes. 

Cole Corey finished all his individual events in first place. He won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.33, the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.22, the high jump with a jump of 5-10.00, and the long jump with a jump of 20-00.25. Keegan Soard also participated in the high jump event, and finished in third place with a jump of 5-06.00. Evan Jacobs ran in the 800 meter run and finished in second place with a time of 2:18.11. Ben Englin grabbed a third place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.26.
