Kuemper at Hawkeye 10 Conference Tournament
Kuemper finished a long day of tennis matches with a fifth place finish and had their two doubles teams make the championship match at Monday’s Hawkeye 10 Conference Tennis Tournament. Kuemper finished the tournament with 16 team points. St Albert and Glenwood tied for first place, finishing with 20 team points.
In singles matches, Sophie Rohe was able to get past the first round with an 8-6 win. She was knocked out of the tournament in the next round, where she lost 8-4. Rohe finished the day in seventh place in the singles #2 bracket. Keziah Jansen was eliminated in the first round where she lost 8-0.
In the Doubles 1 bracket, Samantha Tidgren and Jordan Schwabe teammed up and did well. They entered the tournament ranked #3 in the conference and had a first round bye. In round two, Tidgren and Schwabe won their match 8-4, and advanced to the semifinals. The duo picked up win number two over Shenandoah 8-4 and moved on to the finals. Tidgren and Schwabe faced off against the Shenandoah duo in the finals where they would ultimately fall 6-3, giving Shenandoah the doubles 1 championship.
In the Doubles 2 bracket, it was Alyssa Brant and Vanessa Breedlove who also got a first round bye, being the number one seed. They would face off against the Harlan duo and won 8-2, advancing to the semifinals. Brant and Breedlove played well and defeated the Creston duo 8-3 to advance to the finals. Glenwood awaited Kuemper in the championship match. In the penultimate matchup, both teams were brought to a super tiebreaker to determine the Hawkeye 10 champion. Ultimately, Brant and Breedlove would fall 10-4 and finish in second place overall.

Audubon wrapped up the regular season with a close meet against Southwest Valley Monday. The Wheelers split the singles matches 3-3, but were able to pull out the meet win by winning two of the three doubles matches on the day.
Kya Petersen and her doubles partner Aleah Hermansen saw success in their singles matches as both players won their matches 8-1. In doubles, Petersen and Hermansen continued their great playing with an 8-1 victory. Jill Denny was the other Wheeler who won her singles match where she won by a decisive 8-1. It came down to doubles matches to determine who would win the match. Rachel Heuss and Sophia Sebetka were unsuccessful in their singles matches, losing 8-3 and 8-2 respectively. Yet, in their doubles match together, they turned their bad luck around. Heuss and Sebetka won the meet for the Wheelers with an 8-2 victory in doubles.
