Kuemper picked up a nice win on the road rallying back from down 5-4 after the 4th inning. They nearly broke the game open in the 5th tying the game at 5 but they left the bases loaded. That pressure on the defense though helped them break through in the 6th inning. Kenadee Loew led off the inning with a double off the wall, she scored the go ahead run on a bunt by Kamryn Venner who moved to 2nd on the throw and then stole 3rd. Venner later scored on wild pitch, moving Kaci Peter to 3rd. Chloe Venteicher added to the lead with a double scoring Peter. Kyndal Hilgeberg moved Venteicher to 3rd with a nice sac bunt, setting up an RBI bloop sinble by Hailey Ostrander and Kuemper led 8-5 heading to the bottom of the 6th.
The offense worked out 11 hits and was led by Ostrander and Loew who each had 3 hits. Ostrander had a triple and Loew added the double. Brianna Lux and Jordan Schwabe both had a pair of hits. Loew added 2 RBI. Chloe Venteicher pitched 4 innings allowing 7 hits while striking out 4, Kamryn Venner threw 3 innings giving up no hits and striking out 3.
The Knights evened their record at 1-1 and head to Exira-EHK on Thursday.

Carroll hung tough before the game slipped away late. They trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the 6th inning when ADM scored 5 times to salt the game away. The Tigers had 2 hits including the second home run of the season by Chloe Gallegos. Vanessa Ayala and Gallegos both battled at the plate and earned a pair of walks each. Camryn Schable picked up the other Carroll base hit. Carroll did have 7 stolen bases with Maci Kennebeck and Averie Burke each notching 3 of them.
Carroll falls to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the Raccoon River Conference. They head to North Polk on Thursday and the game will be broadcast on KIKD 106.7 with Nick Brincks.

South Central Calhoun won a high scoring affair highlighted by a 6-run 3rd inning as they improved to 1-1 on the season. The Titans had the bats going combining for 14 hits including a home run in the win. They scored in every inning they batted. Five girls had two or more hits and eight girls had a base hit with all nine girls reaching base.
The Titans scored a run in each of the first two inning before exploding for six in the 3rd. They followed that up with a pair of runs in both the 4th and 5th innings.
Emma Anderson led the hit attack with 3 hits including a home run, Emma Geno, Kortney Riley, Brielle Korleski and Ashley Hanks all had 2 hits.
The Titans continue a busy opening week on Thursday when they host SE Valley.

Ar-We-Va was impressive in their second win this week and season. They improved to 2-0 on the season while Glidden Ralston fell to 0-2. The Rockets had just 3 hits but took advantage of seven walks and five hit by pitches to keep pressure on the Wildcats defense. Glidden Ralston did scatter a few runners on base.
Hannah Kraus had two of the Rockets three hits and Sophie Jackson also had a base hit. Kraus and Jackson drove in a pair of runs. Jadeyn Smith struck 2 batters in 3 innings while picking up the win.
Kim Daily led the Wildcats with a pair of hits, Morgan Koehler, Vanessa Koehler, Gretchen Wallace and Brennan Bowman all had hit.
Ar-We-Va heads to Boyer Valley on Tuesday. Glidden Ralston goes to Boyer Valley on Friday.

Coon Rapids Bayard took big steps forward in their second game of the season picking their first win of the season and evening their record at 1-1 overall and in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Crusaders exploded for 7 runs in the 4th inning, taking a commanding lead after trailing 1-0 since the 1st inning. The defense was solid with just 2 errors behind a very good start in the circle by Emma Hart. Offensively they notched 8 singles and had 5 RBI. Miranda Garcia and Alaya Betts each had two hits and an RBI. Cassidy Baker, Emma Hart, Bridget Shirbroun and Lydia Hofbauer all had a hit and Baker, Wiskus and Hofbauer added and RBI. Hart was tough in the circle allowing just 2 runs on 9 hits. She struck out 4 and only walked 1.
Coon Rapids Bayard heads to Exira-EHK on Friday.
