Trial For Arcadia Man Accused Of Felony Child Endangerment Moved To September

The trial start date for an Arcadia man charged with felony child endangerment has been rescheduled for September. According to Carroll County District Court records, 34-year-old Michael Curtis Andersen pled not guilty in March to two class D felony counts and was originally scheduled for trial in April. However, a motion for continuance was approved before the case could go before a jury. An order filed earlier this week rescheduled the proceedings to Tuesday, Sept. 14 with a pretrial conference slated for Aug. 26. The charges stem from a Feb. 23 arrest by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for the alleged assault of two juveniles. A class D felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
