Outlaw Truck And Tractor Pull Returns To Manilla Saturday

The Manilla Fire Department is inviting fans of big tires and bigger engines to join them Saturday, June 26 for their 11th annual Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pull. The Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association is the largest of the three sanctioned pulling associations in the nation, and Jeff Sievertson, one of the event’s organizers, says that means attendees are in for quite a show.

For comparison, the average car or SUV on the road has between 180 and 300 horsepower. The pull begins at 6 p.m. on the west side of Manilla with gates and registration opening at 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 each with kids 10 years old and younger admitted for just $5. There will also be food and drinks available throughout the afternoon and into the evening. The very first pull they held over a decade ago had about 800 people in attendance, and it has grown markedly every year since. Sievertson says last year’s pull was cancelled due to COVID, so they are expecting a big crowd.

Saturday’s pull promises fun for all ages. Sievertson says it also has the added benefit of helping raise money for the Manilla Fire Department.

Sievertson says it is hard to put a dollar figure on how much is raised for the department each year, but he estimates it is usually several thousand dollars. He notes the pit area is open throughout the night, so attendees can walk down to meet the teams and drivers or check out the machinery in the competition. Again, gates for the 11th annual Manilla Fire Department Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pull open at 4 p.m. Saturday with runs starting at 6 p.m.
