In April, Casey’s General Stores held a 16-day round-up campaign in support of the Special Olympics. They have now announced they will be able to donate more than $790,000 to aid in the work done by the organization to ensure individuals of all abilities have equal opportunities. The campaign in Casey’s 16-states of stores gave guests the opportunity to round up their purchases at the register. The funds collected will be used for athletic, health, school and leadership programming for athletes and Unified partners. This will help more than 100,000 athletes with building the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to create and sustain communities that promote acceptance in respect of all abilities. “We would like to thank Casey’s and their guests for the support they have shown the Special Olympics community,” says Special Olympics President and CEO, John Kliegl. “The money raised through this campaign will give athletes and Unified partners more opportunities both on and off the sports field and will help schools develop their unified programming.”
