The bounces continued to go against Carroll on Friday night as Greene County scored a pair of runs in the 6th on a bloop single that scored a pair of runs in the 6th as the Rams took the lead for the first time since the 3rd inning and then held on to win. The Rams scored twice in the 1st inning to take the early lead but Carroll rallied back with a run in the 1st and 3rd innings and then two runs in the 4th to take the lead. Greene County scored 4-runs in the 6th to pick up the win.
Ryan Johnston got the Tigers on the board in the 1st with an RBI single. Treyton Goins tied the game with a bases loaded walk in the 3rd. Carroll had a chance to grab a lead in the inning but only scored a run. They grabbed their first lead in the 4th inning when Slade Sibenaller drove in a run and then scored on an error. The Tigers led 4-2 heading into the 5th. Carroll had chances to score and add to their lead but they left 10 runners on base throughout the game. They only had one error which allowed 1 unearned run. Treyton Goins nearly came up with a great catch in the 6th but the bloop single was just out of reach. That helped the Rams grab the lead and take a 2-run lead into the final bottom 6th.
Carroll finished with 6 hits. Ryan Johnston had 2 of them and drove in a run. Slade Sibenaller had a base hit and scored twice. Ty Nissen, Sibenaller, Tory Feldman and Cade Schable all singled. Sibenaller and Treyton Goins each had an RBI. Austin Fineran and Evan Loew combined to allow 6 hits and 5 earned runs with 8 strikeouts.
The loss drops Carroll to 11-18. The Tigers host Glenwood on Monday, then travel to Fort Dodge on Tuesday.
