A staple of summertime savings is taking place this weekend with the Highway 141 Garage Sales. Organizer, Linda Curtis, says this is the 19th year of the Friday and Saturday event.
This year’s route spans more than 177 miles, from Sloan to Grimes. Curtis says maps as well as listings of some of the items for sale can be found online.
Although there have not been any major accidents that happen along the route, Curtis asks all those who are participating in the sales to watch their driving and to be courteous of other motorists and pedestrians as well. She says the pandemic didn’t really hamper sales in 2020 and they actually had one of their most successful years.
And with COVID concerns remaining for many, she says it is easily possible to distance from others and encourages those who are uncomfortable with mingling in groups to wear a mask and utilize hand sanitizer as frequently as possible. The sale begins this Friday, but there is no set time. Curtis iterates they like to say it will run from sunup to sundown both Friday and Saturday. A link to the website can be found below.
