A Carroll man accused of theft by deception has pled guilty and sentenced to two days in jail. Court records show 27-year-old Tyson Alan Jackson was arrested on April 10 following a Carroll Police Department investigation into a reported theft from a Carroll retailer. Authorities say Jackson used a former employer’s charge account to make fraudulent purchases between March 2 and March 7. As part of an agreement reached with prosecutors last week, Jackson pled guilty to the serious misdemeanor count and was sentenced to 60 days in the Carroll County jail with all but two days suspended. He was ordered to pay over $1,400 in fines, victim restitution and court costs. Jackson was also placed on informal probation to the Carroll County Sheriff’s for a period of one year.
