Storm Lake GameStop Employee Arrested On Allegations Of Embezzlement

An Aurelia man was arrested Monday following an investigation into a report of ongoing thefts from a local video game retailer. Law enforcement were called to the Storm Lake GameStop on Aug. 5 by the company’s corporate loss and prevention team, who told authorities one of their employees, 32-year-old Adrian Dimas, had manipulated the store’s sales system since December 2019 to embezzle approximately $6,500. Dimas was booked into the Buena Vista County jail and charged with second-degree fraudulent practice, a class D felony. As of Tuesday, Dimas remained in custody on a $5,000 bond. A class D felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
