Voters in the Coon Rapids-Bayard (CRB) Community School District overwhelmingly approved a 10-year Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) and a revenue purpose statement for the Iowa Securing and Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE) Fund in Tuesday night’s election. The PPEL vote, which is an added $1.34 in property taxes per $1,000 of assessed valuation, passed with 84.7 percent approval, 183 yes to 33 no. PPEL funds can be used for a variety of reasons, such as purchasing or improving school property, technology or equipment, transportation materials and other similar purposes.
