The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reminding residents that the local Resource Enhancement And Protection (REAP) assembly will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at the Swan Lake State Park Education Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The meeting will begin with a presentation of the REAP budget and projects in the region that have been funded with REAP dollars. It also provides an opportunity for sharing and discussion of local and statewide visions for outdoor recreation, soil and water enhancement, historical resources, land management and more. In addition, those attending will be asked to elect five individuals and two alternates to serve on the REAP Congress. The assemblies are being held statewide and attendees are asked to participate in the REAP meeting in their region. The Oct. 19 REAP assembly is for residents of Carroll, Audubon, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie and Sac Counties.
