Boys Cross Country Results for Wednesday, October 20th
Kuemper at Winterset at State Qualifying Meet
Kuemper had a strong showing at their state qualifying meet at Winterset Wednesday, where they had two individuals qualify for the cross country state meet next week.
As a team, The Knights finished outside the top three in fourth place with 96 points. Dallas Center Grimes, North Polk, and ADM qualified as teams for the state cross country meet. Despite not qualifying as a team, Michael Pottebaum and Jacob Greving were able to qualify as individuals for the state meet. Pottebaum finished in sixth place with a time of 16:40 and Greving finished in 14th with a time of 16:57. Kuemper’s other runners had a strong showing as well. Ryan North finished inside the top 25 in 24th place with a time of 17:48. Patrick Hensel finished just outside the top 25 in 30th place with a time of 18:15. Carter Drake’s performance got him a 33rd place finish in a time of 18:33.
Pottebaum and Greving will head to the state cross country meet in Fort Dodge and they will run on Friday, October 29th at 3:15. The awards ceremony for Class 3A girls and boys will be at 4:00 on Friday following the boys race.
