Manson – Delbert Kraft, 76, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 6, 2021 at his home in Manson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City with burial in the Lake City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Lampe & Powers Funeral Home.
Delbert was born on July 14, 1945 in Lake City, Iowa to Walter and Genevieve (Bowles) Kraft. He graduated from Lake City High School then served as a munitions specialist in the United States Army during Vietnam. On July 24, 1970, Delbert married Diane Abrams at First Assembly of God in Fort Dodge. He worked for MidAmerican Energy for 37 years before retiring in 2005.
Delbert loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, and farming his massive 3.5 acres whether by hand or hoe. He enjoyed his time on the Honor Flight he was able to take and he especially loved his grandkids and his dogs: Max, Unitus, Mia, Tank and Jake.
Delbert is survived by his sons Matt Kraft (Jodi Smith) and children Liam and Grace Ann of Fort Dodge and Ron (Jackie) and children Haylee, Kaden, and Ronnie of Gowrie; brothers Gary Kraft of Clinton, MO, Lyle (Carolyn) Kraft of Fort Dodge and Jerry (Sue) Kraft of Fort Dodge; and sister Waneta Lewis of Riceville. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Genevieve Kraft; wife Diane Kraft; brothers Leo, Robert and Ronnie Kraft; sister Betty Remsburg; brothers-in-law Virgil Lewis and Bud Remsburg; and sister-in-law Merlene Kraft
