No Injuries Reported In Two Guthrie County Rollover Accidents Over The Weekend

No injuries were reported in two Guthrie County accidents over the holiday weekend. The first accident was reported at approximately 8:30 a.m. Saturday west of Panora. Fifty-year-old Francisco Gaspar-Delgadil Javier of Des Moines was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche westbound on 215th Street and told authorities he lost control near Redwood Avenue. The initial investigation revealed that Javier was likely driving too fast on the gravel road and overcorrected after beginning to lose control. The truck rolled into the north ditch and came to rest on its top. There was an estimated $5,000 in damage to the Avalanche and Javier was cited for failure to maintain control and driving without a valid driver’s license. The second incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday at White Pole Road and Victory Trail near Stuart. A deputy responded to the scene and found an unoccupied 2001 Chevrolet Impala in the north ditch. While the deputy was searching the area, a call came in to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office from the father of a 15-year-old juvenile female from Menlo, who said his daughter was the driver of the vehicle. He told authorities she was the sole occupant and had swerved to avoid hitting a deer. The Impala rolled one time while entering the ditch, causing severe damage estimated at $10,000.
