Wrestling Results for Saturday, December 4th

 

East Sac and South Central Calhoun at Doug Wood Tournament at Manson NW Webster

 

South Central Calhoun and East Sac both competed Saturday at the Doug Wood Tournament at Manson NW Webster where the Titans fell shy of winning the tournament and the Raiders picked up some nice wins. 

For South Central Calhoun, Justin Rohlfing grabbed the win in the 106 pound weight class, going 2-0 on the day and winning both of his matches via fall. Kevin King dominated the 160 pound weight class by going 3-0 on the day and willing his matches via fall, major decision, and decision. Blake McAlister was crowned the champion of the 170 pound weight class as he also went 3-0 on the day and won via fall twice and a medical forfeit in the championship round. The final champion South Central Calhoun was able to crown was Jayden Soard who competed at 285 pounds, going 2-0 on the day and winning via fall twice. 

South Central Calhoun had other wrestlers place at this tournament as well. Case Korleski at 120 pounds went 2-2 on the day winning by fall and decision and placing fourth. Landon Evans placed 5th in the 126 pound weight class going 1-2 on the day winning his match via fall. Brock Nattress went 3-1 on the day at 132 pounds, claiming three wins via fall and finishing in third place. Kaden Dorman at 138 pounds went 2-2 and finished in fifth place with those wins coming via fall. Zachary Trott at 152 pounds grabbed a second place finish wrapping up his day at 2-1, winning via fall twice. Finally Levi Evanoski and Dominik Kistler both finished their days with a record of 2-2 with Evanoski placing 5th at 195 pounds and Kistler placing fourth at 220 pounds. 

For the East Sac Raiders, Bradyn Burns competed at 113 pounds and brought home a second place finish. He went 1-1 on the day and won his semifinal match via fall. East Sac had three other wrestlers who were able to place at the tournament. Wyatt Thorpe finished with a record of 3-1 at 138 pounds and took home third place by winning those matches via fall. Chandler Quirk finished in fourth place at 160 pounds and finished his day with a record of 3-2. Finally, Garrett Ortner finished his day at 120 pounds with a fifth place finish and a record of 2-2.

Carroll at Dallas Center Grimes Tournament 

 

Carroll’s weekend tournament over at Dallas Center Grimes ended with a ninth place finish and a handful of top three finishes for the Tigers Saturday. Overall, the Tigers went 12-18 in matches.

Cael Nelson had a strong day wrestling at 120 pounds as he picked up two wins via fall, went 2-1 overall, and placed third on the day. Cooper Ludwig also went 2-1 in his matches where he won by Fall and an 8-4 decision in the semifinals.  Ludwig ultimately lost via a 14-10 decision in the championship match that gave him a second place finish on the day. Carter Drake was able to pick up a record of 2-1 on the day at 138 pounds with his two victories being a 10-3 decision and 7-4 decision. He too lost in the first place match to take home second place. Jireh Gallegos had a great day as well, going 3-1 overall and taking home a second place finish at 152 pounds. He won by fall twice and a major decision in the semifinals. Other Tigers that managed to place in the tournament include Ethan Espenhover who placed 7th at 126 pounds with a 1-2 record and a win via fall and Sterling Rodman who placed fourth at 170 pounds going 2-2 on the day with wins via a 6-3 decision and fall.

Coon Rapids Bayard at Woodward Granger 

 

Coon Rapids Bayard had some tough challenges on Saturday at the Woodward Granger tournament. The Crusaders finished in 10th place at the tournament with 27 points, going 3-13 in their individual matches. 

Braydon Reineke placed fourth in the 120 weight class and grabbed a win in the tournament via fall and went 1-4 on the day. Jacob Meshek in the 195 pound weight class placed 4th with a record of 1-3 winning his one match by fall. Tyler Mohr was the final Crusader to grab a win in the tournament, as he competed in the 220 pound weight class, placing in 4th, going 1-2 on the day and winning his match by a 9-3 decision.
