For prospective Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) students at the Carroll campus, a special event is being planned that will help answer all of your questions and aid in the registration process. DMACC advisor, Maggie Steinkamp, explains what is available during the Wednesday, Dec. 15 “Rock Enroll.”
Even those who may not be ready to enroll are encouraged to attend and discuss their interests to find the best fit for them. DMACC’s partnerships allow many students to complete a four-year degree locally.
Kris Whitver-Soyer, another DMACC Advisor, says the Last Dollar Grant funding helps cover tuition costs for specific areas of study.
Whitver-Soyer provides more details on one of those high-demand, high-paying careers, computer languages. This is a year-long program and is eligible for Last Dollar support as well as the Rural Forge Scholarship.
Student Resource Specialist, Connie Hoffman, explains opportunities available through the Workforce Training Academy.
The welding and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) courses are offered each semester at DMACC. Again, that Rock Enroll event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15 at all DMACC campuses, including Carroll. The spring semester begins on Monday, Jan. 10.
