Trial For Formal Carroll Man Accused Of Indecent Contact With Child Scheduled For February Trial

A February trial date has been set for a former Carroll man accused of indecent contact with a juvenile victim more than seven years ago. According to Carroll County District Court records, 36-year-old Paul Mathew Synowiecki of Des Moines pled not guilty Thursday to the aggravated misdemeanor charge. An investigation by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office found Synowiecki had touched the then nine-year-old female victim’s inner thigh area while staying overnight at home in Ralston. His jury trial is set to begin on Tuesday, Feb. 15 with a pretrial conference slated for Jan. 27. An aggravated misdemeanor in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
