An outbuilding on a rural property near Maple River was completely destroyed following a fire yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon. According to Carroll Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, crews were dispatched to 18592 Iris Road shortly before 1 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the shed on the property to be nearly fully engulfed in flames. While the building was deemed a total loss, they were able to prevent the fire from spreading. Schreck says the department was on scene for about one hour. The cause of the blaze has not been determined, but an investigation is ongoing.
