CCSD Board Of Education Cancels Tonight’s Special Meeting Regarding OSHA Vaccine/Testing Policies

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education has cancelled their special meeting scheduled for tonight (Monday). The only item that had been on the agenda for school officials was to consider and possibly approve the first reading of a board policy outlining how the district would implement a federal COVID vaccine/testing mandate from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA). The emergency temporary standard was to go into effect today (Monday), Jan. 10. However, Iowa Division of Labor Commissioner, Rod Roberts, announced on Friday Iowa OSHA would not be adopting or enforcing the federal mandate. State officials say Iowa employers and their employees are not required to comply with the federal OSHA vaccine/testing mandate. The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments regarding the mandate on Friday but are yet to issue a decision.
