A South Dakota man faces felony drug trafficking charges after he was found with narcotics and a firearm over the weekend in Storm Lake. At approximately 2:40 p.m., a Storm Lake Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Vestal Street in Storm Lake for a minor traffic violation. The department’s K9-unit was deployed and indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Police located approximately 60 grams of marijuana, over 20 THC cartridges, drug paraphernalia and a loaded hand gun. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 18-year-old Tailor Khamtanh of Sioux Falls, S.D., was taken into custody without incident and transported to Buena Vista County Jail where he was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, class D felonies, prohibited acts-drug violation, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Khamtanh remains in custody on a $12,300 bond.
