Authorities say the man behind a Sunday morning carjacking in Manson has been arrested in Missouri. According to law enforcement, the Manson Police Department and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched at approximately 10:15 a.m. to the scene of the vehicle theft that occurred at gunpoint. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jabari Akinskha Kolaker, was taken into custody Sunday evening in Jefferson County, Mo., which is located just southwest of St. Louis. Authorities say Kolaker had his young son with him when the robbery occurred, and both the child and the stolen vehicle have been recovered. He faces separate charges in Missouri, and Kolaker will be extradited back to Iowa once those have been completed. As of Monday morning, Kolaker remains in custody at the Jefferson County jail in Hillsboro, Mo. The Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol and Missouri State Patrol all assisted in the investigation.
