The Carroll High School (CHS) science team competed last month in the 2022 Iowa High School Science Bowl and brought home a top-10 finish. Twenty-eight Iowa school entered teams into the Jeopardy-style contest that had students answering questions on physics, chemistry, biology, math and more. According to Science Team Advisor, Tony Hooper, this year’s event was held virtually on Jan. 21 due to COVID, but that did not seem to affect the students’ performances. He says the team did well in preliminary scoring and placed sixth, just missing the championship round. This is the best finish by a CHS team in the four years they have participated in the Science Bowl, and they are shooting for an even better finish in 2023 with all of the participating members eligible to compete again next year
