Eighteen Carroll High School (CHS) and Kuemper Catholic High School (KHS) students have earned top ratings at the Iowa High School Speech Association’s (IHSSA) State Individual Events Speech Contest over the weekend. Over 20 local participants traveled to Moville to compete on Saturday. Of the 16 CHS entries to make it to state, 13 earned an “I” or excellent rating. KHS also had 16 performances advance to state, with 13 earning high marks. A panel of judges will select outstanding performances to showcase their skills at the All-State Speech Festival at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) in Cedar Falls on March 28. Those All-State announcements are expected to be released this (Monday) afternoon. A complete list of the competing KHS and CHS students and their scores can be found included below.
