Two Lake View Men Charged Friday Following Arson And Burglary Investigations

The Sac County Sheriff’s Office reports two Lake View men were arrested Friday in connection to a months-long investigation into a series of burglaries in the region and a February structure fire north of Lake View. Over the last six weeks, at least six separate search warrants were issued for 34-year-old John M. Bogue for ongoing criminal conduct, third-degree burglary, second-degree arson, and first-degree criminal mischief, all felony charges. Forty-one-year-old Nick Bogue is charged with second-degree arson, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree theft, and possession of methamphetamine. Authorities allege John and Nick Bogue are tied to several burglaries in and around Lake View that date to December 2021 after law enforcement recovered multiple items during search warrants that had been reported stolen. The arson charge stems from a Feb. 15 fire at an abandoned home in the 2000 block of Perkins Avenue. According to law enforcement, officers identified a video of the house fire on Nick Bogue’s phone. A timestamp showed the suspects took the video before fire departments had been notified of the blaze. John Bogue was booked into the Sac County jail on an $80,000 bond, while Nick Bogue was held on a $43,000 bond. Both men were released Friday after posting bail.
