No Injuries Reported In Two Motor Vehicle Accidents Over The Weekend In Carroll

No injuries were reported in two motor-vehicle accidents reported over the weekend. Officers were dispatched to the scene of the first crash near the intersection of West and 5th Streets on Friday at approximately 2:15 p.m. Their investigation determined a 2010 Ford Fusion, operated by a 17-year-old driver from Manson, was traveling westbound on 5th Street and entering a parking lot when the sedan was struck by an eastbound 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and trailer, driven by 72-year-old Larry Thomsen of Jefferson. Authorities say Thomsen attempted to turn north onto N. West Street but took the turn too sharp, resulting in functional damage to both vehicles. The second accident was reported at approximately 1:38 p.m. in the 1800 block of N. Grant Road on Saturday afternoon. According to law enforcement, a 2013 Ford Escape, driven by 41-year-old Ryan Hart of Boone, was traveling southbound on Grant when he began to slow for traffic. A 2015 Dodge Durango, driven by 32-year-old Abby Sommerfeld of Glidden, was following behind the Hart SUV but failed to slow in time, rear-ending the Ford. Both vehicles sustained functional damage.
