The annual United Way of Carroll Baby Drive is back this coming weekend after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic. According to Executive Director, Jen Munson, the organization hosted its first drive in 2019, and the response from the community was tremendous. She says they are hoping to replicate that success as the event returns.
Supplies and money went to just one organization in the first drive, but Munson says they are expanding this year to include the Family Resource Center and the Carroll County Family Development Center. Volunteers will be stationed at local retailers on Friday and Saturday, collecting donations from shoppers. Munson says supporting the baby drive is as easy as purchasing a few extra items during your trip to the store.
Items to be collected include diapers, formula, wipes, clothes, and other similar products. As of Tuesday, about a dozen spots are still open for volunteers. Message the United Way of Carroll via their Facebook page or contact Munson at 712-292-5671 to sign up. Munson says they are also partnering with several other local businesses to support the baby drive.
Again, United Way volunteers will be collecting items from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Carroll Fareway, Hy-Vee, and Walmart. A list of some of the needed materials can be found included with this story on our website.
