The Jefferson Police Department has opened an investigation into an alleged stabbing incident on Sunday afternoon. At approximately 1:37 p.m., a resident in the 1200 block of Riverside Drive contacted law enforcement and reported a male subject had come to their home requesting aid. The victim told law enforcement he had been attacked by a man with a sword in the 700 block of Sunset Road. The victim was transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of his injuries. Law enforcement searched the home for the suspect, but the individual was not located. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
