Customers of West Central Iowa Rural Water were put on a water watch last week to help save water for the community. The order went into effect on Thursday, May 26 and Jason Meredith, manager of rural water, says the watch is in effect because they buy a lot of their water from Denison.
Meredith adds he does not know how long the watch will last, they are just asking people to conserve water voluntarily. He adds a couple of things residents can do to help out.
Meredith says their levels are down quite a few feet, and to maintain the amount they need, it will have to rain close to an inch per week. To view some restrictions, customers can visit wcirwa.com. Individuals wanting more information can contact West Central Iowa Rural Water at 888-844-2614.
