The 55th annual Sub-State 16-inch softball tournament gets kicked off tonight (Wednesday), and event organizers invite everyone to come to enjoy this Carroll County tradition. The tournament is two weeks long and ends on Sunday, July 23. Commissioner, Bob Fasbender, says games get underway tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Willey. Fasbender adds that on Friday nights, there will be more than softball for fans to enjoy.
Fasbender says with the way the bracket is set up, a good team plays in almost every game.
Another big part of the Sub-State tradition is the Hall of Fame ceremony held on championship Sunday.
The Hall of Fame ceremony will be at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23. Admission is two dollars per person each night. Again, the tournament gets kicked off tonight (Wednesday), with the first game starting at 7:00 p.m.
