The Jefferson Rotary Club is part of a community-wide effort to provide children from financially challenged homes with school supplies for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. The rotary recently delivered supplies and a $170 check to New Opportunities in Jefferson. Teresa Lansman of New Opportunities says they anticipate up to 200 students will need help with school supplies before school starts on Tuesday, August 23. Jefferson Rotary Club President Susan Laehn says, “We are happy to help provide local students what they need for school, and we, with them and their teachers, hope they have a safe and productive school year.” Education and literacy are one of the rotary’s main areas of focus.
