Carroll City Council Will Review First Infill Housing Incentive Program Application At Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll City Council has released the agenda for its next meeting on Monday, Sept. 12. Officials will convene at 5:15 p.m. at Carroll City Hall. City Manager Mike Pogge-Weaver says they will begin by formally introducing the city’s newest library director.

The council will then review and approve funding agreement resolutions with a half-dozen local nonprofit organizations, such as the Carroll Area Child Care Center and Preschool, Carroll Chamber of Commerce, and Community of Concern Food Pantry. The city has provided annual funding to these groups for years, but a recent push from the Iowa State Auditor’s Office requires municipal governments to identify the public purpose of these types of disbursements. Pogge-Weaver says there are also several equipment purchases up for approval during Monday’s meeting.

Pogge-Weaver says the first application for the city’s new infill housing incentive program was received earlier this week and is up for council approval on Monday.

City officials are expected to open bids for the sale of $5.4 million in General Obligation Local Option Sales and Services tax bonds for the Rec Center Project on Monday morning. The council will likely approve a resolution directing the sale with the firm making the best offer. Again, the Monday, Sept. 12 meeting begins at 5:15 p.m. at Carroll City Hall. The proceedings will also be live-streamed via the city’s YouTube channel and local access cable. The full agenda and details on how to attend remotely can be found included below.
