Calhoun County voters will have more than just elected positions to vote for when they head to the polls on November 8. Calhoun County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is seeking the public’s help in passing a vote for essential services. EMS Director Kerrie Hull says the goal is to increase and improve EMS services in the county
If the vote is passed, it will allow for an advisory council to form, and Hull adds that Calhoun County has already achieved this.
The vote must pass by a 60 percent majority, and if approved, a funding source will develop that will be maintained for 15 years. Hull adds this will allow them to build upon their EMS services in Calhoun County.
Hull says Calhoun County is not the only one with this essential service vote on the ballot.
Polls open at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, and will close at 8:00 p.m. Again, this vote needs to pass with 60 percent of voters in favor.
