The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education only has a single item on the agenda for next week’s work session: a discussion on the results of a recently completed facility study for the school. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the board contracted with DLR Group out of Omaha, Neb. to examine the district’s four attendance centers and develop a needs assessment.
DLR Group provided several recommendations, including expansions to Fairview Elementary, renovations and improvements at the high school, construction of a new transportation facility, and potentially retiring Adams Elementary, which is the oldest building still utilized in the district by a significant margin. Berlau says the board will begin reviewing each of DLR’s recommendations and consider their feasibility.
No formal action is expected during Monday’s meeting. Berlau says this is an issue the board will look at for months before deciding on a path forward.
The Nov. 7 meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the board conference room at Adams Elementary. The meeting is open to the public, and stakeholders can also join remotely. Details on how to participate from home, along with the full agenda, can be found included with this story on our website.
