Charlotte Marie Vetter, age 98, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Addington Place in Carroll surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Pastor Ryan Roehrig of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll officiating. Casket bearers will be Charlotte’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 1 – 2 P.M. prior to the service.

Charlotte was born on February 15, 1924 in Carroll, IA, and she was the daughter of Roy and Marie (Platt) Strait. She was a lifelong resident of Carroll and she graduated from Carroll High School in 1942. She was married to Merle Vetter on August 17, 1943 in Plattsmouth, NE. They were stationed in Savannah, GA while Merle was in the service and Charlotte worked for the U.S. Employment Office. Upon Merle’s discharge, they moved back to Carroll in 1946 and she worked for Sharp Florist, Ann’s Flowers, and with her husband Merle operating the Carroll office of the Des Moines Register and Tribune. She was also a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was Baptized and Confirmed. Charlotte enjoyed crafts, antiques, playing cards, and spending time with her family and many good friends.
Charlotte is survived by her three children and families: daughter Kathy Bonjour (Earl) of Perry, son Steve Vetter (Donna) of Bella Vista, AR, and Denny Vetter (Terri) of Carroll; seven grandchildren: Chris Hulsing (Julie), Kolby Vetter, (Catie), Collin Vetter, Carrie Fellom (Trent), Todd Wenck (Sarah), Lea Ann Tamerius (Andrew), and Amy Cox (Brian); her sister Wilma Clauss of Chino Hills, CA; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Merle in 1994; and her parents Roy and Marie Strait.
