Voters in Audubon overwhelmingly voted no in tonight’s (Tuesday) special bond referendum. City officials were seeking voter approval for a $2.8 million general obligation bond to fund the construction of a new fire station for the Audubon Fire Department. The bond required at least 60-percent approval to pass, but missed that mark by a wide margin. Results indicate that only 34.6 percent of the 569 ballots cast Tuesday supported the debt issuance. An overwhelming majority, 65.3 percent, voted against it. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from city officials in upcoming newscasts.
