Golfers will be hitting the icy links this weekend in Lake View as the Black Hawk Men’s Club hosts their 34th annual Arctic Open. The classic wintertime event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 4 on Black Hawk Lake. Men’s Club Secretary Kyle Peters says ice conditions are about as good as they can ask for 2023’s outing.
The weather looks like it will cooperate as well, with cool temperatures forecast through Friday night and rising into the mid-30s on Saturday. Early registration for the three-person best ball tournament is available now for $75 per team by calling Peters at 712-210-6943 or messaging the Black Hawk Men’s Club via their Facebook page. Peters says participants can register on Saturday too.
Same-day registration runs from 11 a.m. to noon in the Camp Crescent Campground, and the tournament begins with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. According to Peters, participants will gather indoors for food and prizes.
Peters says the Arctic Open is typically about getting out on the ice and having a good time, but the money raised by the Black Hawk Men’s Club also is used throughout the year to support community programs and projects.
Again, registration is $75 per team for the upcoming 34th annual Arctic Open in Lake View on Saturday, Feb. 4.
