Public Hearing On 2023-2024 School Calendar On Monday’s CCSD Board Of Education Agenda

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will convene on Monday for their last meeting in February. The board was initially supposed to meet earlier this week on Monday but moved it to next week due to two school officials testifying at a House Oversight Committee in Des Moines. On the board’s agenda is an opening offer from the Carroll Education Association (CEA) and then the CCSD offer. School officials will also hold a public hearing on the 2023-2024 school calendar. According to Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau, the board is in the time of the year when they begin negotiation with different bargaining units.

Berlau adds that after both parties present their offers, negotiations will begin behind closed doors. Once an agreement is made, the official proposal will return to the board for approval. During Monday’s meeting, school officials will also host a public hearing to review next year’s school calendar. Berlau says they have a committee that helps make the calendar.

During the public hearing, comments from individuals in attendance will be heard only about the school calendar. The Board convenes on Monday in the board meeting room at Adams Elementary starting at 5:30 p.m.
