According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa, motor fuel prices slipped slightly over the past week across the state. The cost of regular unleaded gasoline was down eight cents to $3.47 per gallon, 39 cents lower than it was this time last year. Meanwhile, the national average for regular unleaded gasoline was $3.64, down four cents from last week. Diesel prices also fell this week, dropping by four cents with a statewide average of $3.91. One year ago, diesel prices in Iowa averaged $4.86, and the current Iowa diesel price is 25 cents less than the national average of $4.16. Wholesale ethanol prices remained steady at $2.16. As for natural gas, prices rose 10 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.34/MMBtu.
