St. Anthony Regional Hospital recently recognized over 30 members of the St. Anthony Auxiliary for their many volunteer hours and steadfast commitment to the organization. From working in the coffee and gift shop in the atrium and staffing the reception desk to baking items for sales and helping with activities in the nursing home, auxiliary members complete a wide range of work in the organization. During the group’s spring awards banquet last week, Jan Potthoff was named the 2022 Volunteer of the Year. Four other individuals, Lola Hoogestraat, Peg Scheidt, Marie Sextro, and Renee Fricke, were recognized for over 25 years of service to the Auxiliary. In 2022, the St. Anthony Auxiliary had 373 members who donated a total of 16,672 hours of volunteer work. Since recordkeeping began, the organization has contributed nearly 491,000 hours to the hospital and donated more than $901,000 to various projects and expansions. St. Anthony President and CEO Allen Anderson says, “On behalf of St. Anthony, we want to thank each auxiliary member for the services and dedication to the hospital, patients, and our community. From giving direction to visitors to hand-knitting blankets, none of your efforts go unnoticed.” A list of volunteer stats and the dozens of people recognized by the Auxiliary is included below.
