Cornerback Marcus Peters agrees to one-year contract with Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders and three-time Pro-Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters reached a contract agreement on Monday. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Raiders and Peters agreed on a one-year deal following his visit with the club on the Monday.

Peters is a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time AP All-Pro First Team honoree. The veteran cornerback will enter his ninth season in the NFL, having previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Baltimore Ravens. Peters has been a leader in the NFL in interceptions returned for touchdowns across three seasons, including his rookie campaign with Kansas City, where he also led the NFL in passes defensed (26), interceptions (eight), and yards returned on interceptions (280).  He received the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award that season.

Peters was traded to Los Angeles in March of 2018, before he was eventually traded to the Baltimore in October 2019. At the end of that campaign, Peters had led the league in yards returned off interceptions (210) and interceptions returned for touchdowns (three) for the third time in his career. He played 2+ seasons with the Ravens, registering 99 combined tackles, three for losses, eight interceptions, two touchdowns, 25 passes defensed, four fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and two sacks.

Throughout his career, Peters has recorded 346 combined tackles, eight for losses, 32 interceptions, seven touchdowns, 11 forced fumbles, and 10 fumble recoveries.
